AOG Opens New Family Fellowship In Ombain

As a testament to strengthening relationship and commitment to the Ombain landowners and surrounding community, Lucas Kutuapi, 56, and Aidah Kutuapi, 50, have planted a new family fellowship in Ombain, Rai Coast LLG, Madang, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea.

The occasion was a dream come true for the East Sepik couple who donated a portion of their acquired land towards the church planting. Mr. and Mrs. Kutuapi have been part of the Ombain community for the past five years but with the opening of the new church, they could now show a more visible and bold commitment to spreading the love of Jesus Christ in the community.

AOG Madang Provincial Missions Coordinator and Senior Pastor for AOG Sisiak Church, Pastor Mason Wamalia, shared from the Word of God and officially opened the new family fellowship before elders from AOG Madang Harvest Vision Centre, landowners and community members.

AOG Madang Provincial Missions Assistant Coordinator and Assistant Pastor for AOG Madang Harvest Vision Centre, Pastor Dick Dagen, confirmed that the event is a dream comes through for Mr. and Mrs. Kutuapi.

“I am happy to see you all here because I was here a couple of years back to pray for the small Prayer House (and it is still there). Today’s event sees Mr. and Mrs. Kutuapi’s dream become a reality. It is true that the first day of anything new will always be remembered.

“This new fellowship does not belong to Lucas and Aidah. It belongs to God and He has made it possible for it to be planted at your doorstep. It is everyone’s responsibility to care for it and help it grow,” Pastor Dagen said.

Mr. Kutuapi thanked and acknowledged the landowners and the AOG Madang Provincial Missions Coordinator and his office for their commitment in allowing the new fellowship to be launched.

Mrs. Kutuapi said that this church planting fulfills a personal promise they made to the landowners when they initially bought this whole block of land on October 15, 2010.

"We promised to give them Jesus Christ. Our mission does not stop here. This is just the beginning,"said Mrs. Kutuapi.

The AOG Madang Provincial Coordinator has appointed Pastor Jacob Enagi to administer the new family fellowship.

72 people including children attended the opening service on Sunday, 1st February 2015.
